If You Read...

A list of favorite books is coming soon!

"You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me."  ~C.S. Lewis...

...Yet it can be hard to find a place to buy wholesome, Christian books! I have struggled with this and I know that I am not alone. Below are my family's favorite places to buy books... we would love your recommendations!

Keepers of the Faith is a company that publishes mostly older books, usually from the 1800's and early 1900's. The older views and quiet pace hold a refreshing peace and the Christian faith is rightly portrayed as a shining light that brings peace, comfort and joy. Favorites include Four Girls at Chautauqua, Children of Cloverley, & Twenty Minutes Late

Grace and Truth Books is another company that publishes older (cia 1800's) books. I have only read books from their character building collection, but I'm sure that the rest of their books don't disappoint! We own Godliness is Great Gain, but I've also read and enjoyed Little Daisy & the Swearing Class, The Weed With an Ill Name, Wandering May, and a few others.

Rod and Staff Books is a retail seller of books from Rod and Staff Publishers and a few other smaller publishing companies. It is a Mennonite company, and so they have a few doctrine differences. That said, my sisters and I love their chapter books! (We aren't such huge fans of their English books, but that's a school issue. :P ) Their Little Jewel books for little ones are wonderful, too.
